The Rules and Stuff
Timeline
- From March 17th-30th, there will be a period of online voting, where your fans will have a chance to show support for your music and getting you to the festival.
- Throughout the month of April, we’ll play songs from a short list of bands, curated by our panel of judges (and influenced by the results on the online vote).
- 4 finalists will be selected by our judges and announced on May 5th. The finalists will be invited to battle in a show at Bracebridge Hall, Saturday May 24th, from which one band will be selected to play the Big Stage at Tall Pines!
Criteria
- This contest is open to musicians from across Ontario. Though we strongly encourage submissions from the Simcoe/Muskoka area, we know Ontario’s music scene is incredibly interconnected – so whether you’re from Barrie, Brantford, or Belleville, you’re welcome at Tall Pines!
- You must be available to play in the “battle” show at Bracebridge Hall on May 24th, and at the Tall Pines Festival itself July 18-19.
- While we welcome submissions from musicians of all sorts and sounds, consider the venue and audience in your submission and performance. Tall Pines is a family-friendly festival, celebrating good music, good vibes, and good atmosphere in Muskoka for locals and visitors alike. Judges are looking for acts that will fit the vibe of the festival. If you’re not familiar with the festival, learn a bit more about them here: tallpinesfestival.com/welcome
