The Ontario government is coming under fire for investing in a number of advertisements they say will help inform parents and members of the public of the health measures that will be in place as kids return to schools in September.
Opposition leaders have argued the money could have been better spent on hiring teachers, personal protective equipment for the classrooms, or other increased safety measures for students.
The new advertisements will run on the radio in both English and French, as well as in print, which will tout the province’s plan for reopening schools on September 8th.
Premier Doug Ford told reporters yesterday that the advertisements are critical in order to communicate with parents, but he would not say how much the advertisements cost, only saying they are part of a wider public awareness campaign.
