The flying of the Thin Blue Line Canadian flag outside the Ontario Provincial Police Association building in Barrie has created some controversy.
It has recently been waved by pro-police supporters, countering protests across North America demanding racial justice and an overhaul to policing.
The traditional red and white maple leaf flag outside the police union office on Ferris Lane in Barrie has been replaced with the Thin Blue Line flag.
Union president Rob Jamieson told CTV Barrie that its red and white flag is ripped and the new flag was put up on June 29 to honour the lives of fallen officers in Halifax and Abbotsford, B.C..
He insists it was not to make any political statement.
