The hospital in Orillia is updating the public on how things are progressing during this next phase of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital has put out a letter saying they are taking a parallel approach of resuming activity but not relaxing their COVID-19 efforts.
Planning is underway to restart scheduled surgeries, procedures and clinics.
Hospital officials say they are determining the safest way to perform these procedures with the understanding that COVID-19 will be with us for some time.
They need a stable supply of personal protective equipment to keep patients and staff safe.
But officials say they have to be vigilant in looking for any signs of increased activity of the virus to be able to scale back operations if need be.
They add that there are literally thousands of procedures, tests, clinic appointments and surgeries that have been delayed.
“Rest assured that we will be in contact with you to reschedule as we work our way through this backlog”.
As temperatures go up, don't let your guard down when it comes to the battle against COVID-19. Read more in the latest Update to the Community from OSMH President and CEO Carmine Stumpo. https://t.co/wrLSqdqRxi
