The Muskoka Bears Junior C’s had just one weekend game this past weekend, when they entertained the Orillia Terriers on Saturday night.
The Bears came out flying as Jacob Budney tallied his 4th goal of the season early in the third to put the Bears ahead, 1-0. Playing inspired at home, the Bears stayed right with the Terriers in the first and were rewarded with another Budney tally to put them up 2-0.
A seasoned Orillia Terriers squad then poured it on in the 2nd period, scoring a power play goal to come within one. An ill-timed penalty by the Bears enabled Terriers to tie the game with Terriers leading scorer Dylan Palomaki scoring his 16th goal of the season.
Penalties continued to punish the Bears, and Orillia’s Lleyton Mclean scored another power play goal, to give the Terriers the lead 3-2, and that’s how it ended, 3-2 Orillia.
The Muskoka Bears new addition goalie Gabriel Donohue, was a standout in net, stopping 41 shots in the loss, and getting 3rd star of the game.
Orillia 3, Muskoka 2 (Budney with both goals gives him 5 on season)
