Motorists were warned more than a week ago that the OPP would be watching traffic from the skies over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
And more than 50 drivers along Highway 11 found out the hard way they were were serious.
From the Barrie area, through Orillia and up into Muskoka, police laid 56 charges of following too closely , along with 11 speeding charges, and 23 warnings.
They also charged the driver of a tractor trailer who was tracked for several kilometers weaving in and out of traffic.
