Bala Falls, Muskoka Lakes, Bala
Most people know this part of the region for the Kee to Bala and the Bala cranberry marshes.
However, the Bala Falls are well worth a stopover on your trip to the Muskokas. Visitors can check out the pretty waterfalls flowing over the rocky shoal into Bala Bay, part of the Muskoka Lakes, and even stop for lunch at the Bala Falls pub.
McCrae Lake Bridge and Waterfalls, Georgian Bay, Honey Harbour
McCrae Lake is nestled off Highway 400 to the north-east point of Honey Harbour near a feeder lake for Georgian Bay.
The McCrae Lake Conservation trail winds through the picturesque forest taking you to an eagles nest observation area. You’ll find plenty of sights to take in, including McCrae Lake Rapids and the McCrae Lake bridge and waterfall.
Whites Falls, Port Severn
Located off Muskoka Road 34 within the Gloucester Pool, White’s Falls is Port Severn’s focal point for natural attractions. Besides the falls, there is a dam to position yourself perfectly for a few snaps of the water.
Stubbs Falls, Huntsville
Just north of Huntsville, Arrowhead Provincial Park offers seasonal camping and loads of trails.
This site is a rare year-round gem; during the winter months, you can skate along the 1.5 km ice trail carved on the East River.
Inglis Falls
Get to Inglis Falls via an enjoyable woodland hike from Harrison Park. The trail is about 2.5 km each way.
Also, for those who like to identify trees and shrubs, many are labelled along the way. Once you get to the falls, there are a number of viewing points where you can capture images.
Bell Falls, Waubaushene
An ideal destination if you are of the hiking persuasion, Bell Falls in Waubashene is located in a sprawling campsite, where visitors can enjoy seasonal stays or short camping expeditions.
